TATRAS

The Great Saltmine and Hifwip reading program by Frank Rogers is a unique reading and spelling program that makes it very easy for parents to successfully teach children to read and to love reading. The parents do not have to be good readers or spellers themselves and the program is fully effective through a wide range of student ages, aptitudes and learning modalities.

The Penny Primer Starter Set, which uses the eight phonograms and 43 words from the first lesson in the manual, comes in its own little package. The starter set might take six weeks to six months to teach to a pre-schooler. It is used by parents to prove the ease and effectiveness of the TATRAS program. The Penny Primer will probably provide the most important reading lesson your beginning reader will ever receive.

Children should not be taught phonics until they can name most of the letters of the alphabet. The Starter Set includes an Alphabet Report Card which provides tips on teaching the alphabet and provides a chart on which to record a child’s progress.

TATRAS package includes:

1. Twelve-page Penny Primer. A beginning reader’s most important lesson. (Used to teach to preschoolers the sounds of the first eight letters and the first 43 words.)
2. TATRAS I CD. Tells how to teach the Penny Primer and the theory of the TATRAS program.
3. 48-page Saltmine & Hifwip Manual.
4. TATRAS II CD. Tells how to use the Saltmine & Hifwip Manual.
5. Flash cards, for phonograms in Penny Primer, and wooden rack (in which to place cards for first lessons in spelling.)

8. Finger Clock Card (Letter templates). (Gray, 5” x 7”)
