Thank you for your review of MOH. I have spent hours searching through the overwhelming amount of history curriculum that is available. I was narrowing down my search to MOH, as it seemed like the best for our family; a book that would certainly draw my children's minds to their Creator, to His story and sovereign work over time. Your review was the deciding factor for me. I am now really excited to order it and learn with my kids!

Laurie,
We use this wonderful book that Linda Hobar has graciously, and intelligently put together. I enjoy the series very much. I only struggled witht the many options for crafts, but when emailing Linda on the yahoo loop (and let us face facts here, how many authors let you do THAT?) she was gracious, and inquisitive as to what all we WERE doing, what and how we were supplementing, and reminded me that these were in fact options.... sometimes we need to be reminded of that... We can not do it ALL... I felt overwhenlmed with all she had offered... We had been reading all the bibliography books as well, etc etc... :) No, I would concur with you, this is an excellent History Series! And I sure do learn a whole lot myself!

Does anyone know how MOH compares to My Father's World? I've been planning on starting MFW next year for quite a while, but if MOH is better (and a lot cheaper!!) I would certainly consider it instead.

We have used the MOH books and loved them! The kids and I found lessons very interesting. I love the way we see people and events in order; it is so much easier to understand from a complete perspective. Wish this was around when I was a kid!

I bought MOH Volume III to use this fall for my son. I bought it based on Cathy Duffy's review and was not sure if I would feel it was the best. With your review, and from what I can see, I am glad I did! Thank you!

Thank you for your review. My sis in law is using this now and I would like to get my hands on her copy to look at it. Quick question regarding narrative histories. I suppose The Story of Mankind by Hendrik Willem van Loon would fit into that category. Since I am a former school librarian I was well aware that it was the first winner of the Newbery Medal and though I never had it in my library I was thrilled to find it either at a yard sale or as a weeded book from my library. I started reading it and was not prepared for the first chapter to start with an evolutionary base. I have read a few chapters - there are many - and don't really want to waste my time. What are your opinions of this book? I am very illiterate when it comes to all of history - except names and dates. I look forward to learning history better with my crew when we start Ancient History next year.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the review. I've been going back and forth trying to decide if Mystery of History OR The Story of the World would be a better fit for our family. After reading multiple reviews (good and not-so-good) I think we'll try MOH and see how it goes!
