We received a most beautiful springtime card in the mail yesterday. It brightened up our day considerably. I hope warm weather comes soon. Helena can’t get out in the yard to work, so she stays in the living room ordering flower bulbs. She has ordered from four catalogs so far and one more catalog arrived yesterday. I see there are 23 of the pages with items circled.
Two things are going to come of this if the weather doesn’t change soon — we are going to go bankrupt and our yard is going to look like Huntington Botanical Gardens, which is what she’d really like. I’ve decided to forget growing vegetables this summer — I won’t have time to tend to them anyway because I’ll be weeding dahlias and lilies all summer.

After this cold snowy winter we are all longing for spring weather!
I’ll look forward to the photo’s of the lovely summer flowers, Helena.

It’s really feeling like Spring here!
Our family enjoyed a visit to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens a few years ago. It made for a great field trip!

I’ve been in the same kind of state ever since the beginning of February and the only thing that has kept me in check was knowing that my bank account only had so much in it!! I like the catalogues where if you buy $25 worth of plants you can get an additional $25 dollars of plants for free!
Ahhh… spring!
