When you hear ‘spirit’ (little ‘s’) what it really means is ‘demon’. Therefore, Christians have no business being involved with team sports. Wearing team hats, flying pennants, wearing jerseys or rooting for a favorite team are all displays of showing ‘team spirit’. Why would a Christian want to team up with a demon? I submit that Christians have no business openly engaging in what boils down as ‘demon worship’; watching sports or having favorite sports team should be denounced by any one who claims Christ. Playing sports should also be avoided, lest you cause your brother to stumble by tempting him to cheer for you and/or your team. There. A real life, non-silly entry.
